Unplug your MAF, leave running and gently rev for a few minutes, your ide will drop to 900 rpm and remain nice and flat whilst unplugged.
Hi I have a Golf MK4 1.6. It has the same problem. The EPC light comes on then the revs fluctuate between 900-1100. The engine goes off in the middle of the highway! Or in traffic while driving slowly. Yesterday I started the engine but when I stepped on the gas pedal, no response.

VW Golf Mk4 oil leak - Golf driver. Vehicle: Golf Mk4 1400 S, 60k miles. Symptoms: Engine is chucking up oil into the air filter as well as leaving deposits of oil on the ground. Oil deposits are blackened despite a recent engine oil & filter replacement. Engine starts OK and drives seemingly normal.
MK4 1.6 SR AKL Help Needed. Pleqase guys i need some advise. anybody have the correct Vacuum diagram for the vehicle? I need to know where the vqacuum pipe for the throttle body goes to. Also on the back of the intake on top by the throttle body there is suppose to be like a pressure relieve plug that controls the Pressure in the intake.
